About
Hurstbridge Tennis Club was first formed in the early 1900's, with the courts, originally positioned in Graysharps Road, being officially opened in 1922.

In the 1980's the club was relocated to its current site in Ferguson's Paddock, where it sits adjacent to historic Allwood House.

Initially two hard courts were constructed at Ferguson's Paddock, alongside a rudimentary clubhouse shed.
Today we are proud to offer four fantastic synthetic courts in conjunction with charming clubrooms and well-established grounds incorporating a children's playground and BBQ facilities - all surrounded by lush picturesque bushland.
Competition and social tennis is available for men, women, mixed and juniors. There are also numerous coaching sessions and fitness opportunities on offer.

Our Vision
To provide a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and positive environment which encourages community engagement and presents a wide range of opportunities for tennis participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
We strive for excellence through a progressive approach which recognises the value of innovation to ensure our membership base, facilities and services are all optimally maintained and enhanced. We work closely with Tennis Victoria, Nillumbik Council, and Victorian sporting initiatives to leverage resources and opportunities for the benefit of our club, our members, and the wider community. This cultivates financial viability which, in turn, works to sustain and strengthen our club for the future. We set clear financial goals and targets, prioritising the needs of the club and its members while maintaining transparency and accountability. We appreciate every member's participation, regardless of skill level, and encourage them to be active contributors to our tennis community.
Our values of inclusion, respect, fair-play, and enjoyment combine to develop players with a life-long love of sport and physical activity. We are dedicated to developing players of all ages, offering coaching programs that support learners and nurture social and competitive tennis. We achieve this through a broad range of professional coaching programs and social playing opportunities which, teamed with our high-quality facilities and community events, meet all player desires and requirements.
We act in a consistent, trustworthy manner that represents the best interests of our members, drawing upon established policies such as Safeguarding Children, Sun Smart, Member Protection and our Code of Behaviour.
At Hurstbridge Tennis Club we are committed to realising this vision through dedicated leadership, collaboration, and the unwavering support of our members. Together, we aspire to be a beacon of tennis excellence and community spirit in Hurstbridge.

Meet Our President
Luke Franklin
I've been associated with the Hurstbridge Tennis Club all of my life, where my dad was also President and pivotal in the establishment of the site we have today. I have played as a junior and senior in both mixed and men's tennis competitions.
Following my schooling at Diamond Valley College, I pursued teaching which subsequently led me to work in many local schools, most notably Hurstbridge Primary School where I taught as both a Physical Education specialist, and general classroom teacher, for several years.
Currently I am an Assistant Principal at Rosanna Golf Links Primary School, and play tennis in the Tuesday Night Men's competition. Both of my young kids along with my wife are also involved in tennis at Hurstbridge.
